Can you work two similar jobs? |
I'm starting my training as a Police officer through the military, however when I get out I also wanted to help as a fire fighter. Can I be both a police officer, and a volunteer firefighter? Yes, but you might want to get into a routine at your PD job for a year or so before starting with the Fire Dept. That combo could leave you mentally and physically exhausted - not the best condition to perform either of the two.Maybe you can also take a part time super-hero Job, that will help. sincerely yours: ROBOCOP You won't be too worn out from being a police officer? Considering they are public service jobs then you likely can. Jobs in the private sector can be a little trickier with contracts and such. Anything is possible though your time would be very taxing and it would be difficult to keep up with the workload. Do what you see as best. Good Luck. Yes. Make sure you have good disability insurance (no sleep means more accidents) and don't plan on a girl friend either. yes i work for a volunteer fire department and we have a police officer who also works for us |
