On the news come early summer every year, reporters state that 1.) Because of the lack of rain in the western US, there is an extreme danger of fire, or 2.) Because of the wet winter and growth of much vegetation there is extreme fire danger. Is this just a money/attention grab technique by the Dept. of Forestry?
bad things are going to happen. people like to know why so they can put the blame on something and sleep at night. every summer since i've been a little kid i've heard stories of an intense drought that is supposed to happen in cali. i don't remember us ever running out of water. the news also likes to sensationalize things. don't freak out about everything on the news. most fires are caused by something other than the brush. like a pyro with a pack of matches. |
