I plan to take cfa level I exam in dec 2007. will i have enough time (5months) to get prepared for it.? |
also, should i buy the curriculum or any of the other study programs (Schweser or stalla). thanks for your help guys. also, do you think that by passing level I, i would have more opportunities to work for a top investment bank doing equity research or something like that?currently, i work in operations as an analyst for a hedge fund but want to move to either PMG or IB units. Thanks Five months is plenty of time. The typical study time frame is 6 months. You should be diligent in your study, and yes, having schweser notes is definitely a bonus. Self study is good, but I've known people to spend the money for a week long study program and talked about the value of such a rigorous program. Also, check with your local CFA Society, they more than likely have a study group that you can join (peers studying and sharing notes in prep for the exam). Being involved in the program is definitely advantageous, so passing a level is great and can boost your resume. But the most recognition comes from completing the entire program and earning the CFA designation. Good luck!
