What does this mean -ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI with CI polygraph. Security Clearance Required. - ??? |
There is a job that I'm interester, and they ask for that , where can I get a certificate of that?? This normally means that you must have experience in the field your applying for. To have top secret clearance or anything close to that you must already work for a government agency and go from there. Try the department of defense to start. An active clearance indicates that you currently have access to TOP Secret information at your present job duty. The CI polygraph means that you have undergone a polygraph test at a government agency and the CI poly is usually the easiest one to get. It is difficult to get a certificate for a TS/SCI security clearance within a short amount of time. The average time it takes to get a Top Secret Clearance alone is anywhere from 6-18 months depending on your background. It took 16 months to get mine due to the extensive background checks the government goes through to be sure you are not working for a foreign country or to make sure you have the characteristics of someone who would not abuse the clearance Shortest way to get a TS clearance is to apply for a job that states "willing to undergoe additional screening to obtain clearance" and even then you are not guaranteed to obtain it. Truth is the agency or company you are working for is required to pay anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 just to process the Top Secret clearance paperwork and that is why people who have them are such hot commodities in the government sector. hope this helps member of the intel community If you don't know what they are you are not qualified for the job. Don't waste your or their time. ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI with CI polygraph means that you are currently in a U.S. Government position (either as an employee or contractor) which required that you pass a 10 year background investigation and pass a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination. The SCI means that your position not only requires a "top secret" clearance but also requires you to have special accesses to special programs. This background investigation does take up to 18 months to complete and adjudicate. If the position for which you are applying requires that you ALREADY have this clearance, then I would suggest you not apply because you are not qualified. If the position posting asks if you have the clearance but does not specify you must ALREADY have the clearance, then go ahead and apply. It's your skills that will get you the position, however it's the background investigation which will determine whether or not you qualify for the TS/SCI clearance. The employing company/agency will conduct the necessary investigation IF your skills merit the expending of funds to conduct the investigation. It is a very detailed and exhaustive investigation which covers past residences, employments, references, police checks, good credit history, and more. Good luck. Retired U.S. government security officer and current security clearance investigator. |
