forget the books start volunteering at your local firehouse.
go on the website for whatever county/city you want to work in. the criteria is different for different positions. if youre going to take the exam im going to assume youre already in the academy (otherwise, you need to be) so ask your instructors to recommend something, or if youre friends w/any guys that have already taken the exam, ask for their books and study cards
