What are some good fundraising ideas for a non-profit organization? |
What are some good fundraising ideas for a non-profit organization? One of the best fund raisers I did was a craft show and carnival at the same time. For the craft show, people paid $10/table to set up their stuff. For the carnival, I asked local businessess to donate prizes for raffles, small trinkets or cash donations to purchase small prizes for the kids games, had someone dress up as a clown and passed out balloons, got with a local pizza company who delivered pizza's to me on a whim as I needed them and we split the profits as I sold them by the slice, had local farmers bring animals for a petting zoo and since it was easter time, had an easter egg hunt with 1 egg holding $20 cash to trigger kids involvement and marketed it to all the schools! it was a huge success. Think outside of the box and use local businesses to join you in your efforts. They are more than happy to help - the ey is either asking them in person or on the phone...don't just send a letter, it's too easy to say no. Good luck! Golf tournaments are used a lot in my area, formal parties (like a black and white ball where everyone wears only black and/or white) where guests donate a large amount to attend, concerts (if you can get a sponsor for the band). One group here organized the restaurants into doing a "Taste of the Holidays" where each restaurant provide a sampling of their speciality foods. Guests paid $25 each to walk through and taste all the foods. Local florists had decorated trees, etc. Local college provided free music. I've also seen civic groups hold arts and crafts fairs in October, charging booth rent for the crafters and admission from the buyers, and in the process raising large sums of money. Hold a fund raising yard sale, or here in Cedar City they hold a fundraiser carnival on Halloween. Just try to get people to donate. You could have a yard sale,a car wash,a bake sale. This is just some ideas.I heard avon now has fundraisers people can do for their groups. My husband and I are the founders well I am the founder and my husband is co-founder of a autism support group: Mecosta County Autism Support Group We have not yet have a fund raiser but other groups in our area have and this is what they did as I mention above. I endorse a health/wellness company that has a program for non-profit organizations. I know of some churches and youth camps that raise great money. If you now people who spend about $50 at walmart, than they can use that $50 to buy better products thru the health/wellness company, and the company pays the non-profit organization. It's a great way to raise some money. If you'd like more information please feel free to email me - mpm4me@yahoo.com Good luck to you!!!
