Is Skywarn a non profit organization? |
Is Skywarn a non profit organization? Look up the secretary of state's webpage in your state. Then see the listings for corporations, limited partnerships, not-for-profits, etc. If Skywarn is not listed, it could be that they are in another state's listing. I note, in looking up Skywarn, that it appears to be linking into the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Weather Service, etc. However, the ".org" gives us a clue that its NOT a governmental agency. Another clue is the "Amateur Radio Emergency Service" emblem. My professional guess is that Skywatch is an association (non-profit) of persons across the US that help to keep tabs on unusual weather. I do note a "Castle Rock, CO" address for the weather button. So... doing what I just told you to do, I looked up the Colorado Secretary of State and found .... http://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/businesse... The IRS maintains a somewhat up to date on line listing of charities and non-profit organizations. Try the link below http://www.irs.gov/charities/index.html... |
