Roles of public relations in non-profit organisations? |
it is an assignment, and am to write about 10 pages on it. Most non-profit organizations rely on public goodwill for donations. Even if they offer a product or service, they still rely on the fact that the proceeds are going to a worthy cause. Thus I would say most non-profits that have a charitable purpose by default start out with a high degree of good public relations and goodwill, and it's important for them to keep it. More so than a regular profit-making business since businesses compete on the basis of price and quality of product, and non-profits compete largely on the basis of goodwill. the answer is good but it is not enough. You will find all the information you are looking for in this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/public_rela... They function the same way whether PR is being done for a business or non-profit organization. The only difference is in non-profit organizations PR is more of the advocacy type rather than institutional or product image building. Peace and blessings! My 10 years experience in Corporate PR |
