How can I get invovled with a Non Governmental Organization that helps the poor in Africa?

The Peace Core, They are non government.

First of all what do you mean by get involved? Do you mean volunteer, donate money, or start a field career working in public service in Africa?

If you are looking to start a career in the field, it can be very challenging and competitive, my advice would be to get a degree in Public Health, or something similar, and get field experience volunteering. In my experience you will not get hired for the field without a great deal of experience, and expertise. Peace Corp or similar organizations will give you good experience.

You also might want to look into organizations like Oxfam, and International Rescue Committee. They have lists of jobs as well as volunteer opportunities. Good luck!
