What's your favourite charity (non-religious) and why? Be brief, say three sentences.? |
One you financially or morally support. The humane society because it's nice to have someone speak up for those who cannot speak themselves. The state lottery Habitat for Humanity is my favorite non-religious charity because it empowers people everywhere by using their sweat equity along with the charity of others to house them and provide for them not just today, but forever. http://www.habitat.org/ habitat for humanity, it helps people to become a homeowner. it doesn't give houses to people, it finances to them with no interest, and very low price. so it builds home ownership, but doesn't support free-loaders. Pathfinder International. They send teachers to Africa to teach women there about reproductive health, and rights. In 2004 only 9% of African women knew what AIDS or HIV was, even though 74% of them already had the disease. Pathfinder also provides abortion options for women in Africa who were the victim of rape or incest, an astonishing 44% of African women are victims of this. http://www.pathfind.org/ |
