Does anyone actually like working for the Post Office?

I am considering applying for a job with the Post Office. I'm aware that it is difficult to get on, but I hear mixed things about working there. On one hand I hear that you make good money and they have good benefits, but on the other hand I hear that people absolutely hate working there. Is there anyone that ACTUALLY WORKS for the Post Office that could give me some insight into what its like? What kind of pay do they offer? Is there advancement possibilities, etc.? Any information would be extremely helpful, thank you.

it's an awful place to work..pass.....going postal is because they treat you so badly there......also, the po is going to start cutting back services.
No I don't really like it! Its grueling hard work!

Ps. I dont work there!
I believe they have a "pay grade" similar to the military. I believe there may be opportunity for advancement and they prefer to hire from within, but that's up to you. Seems like any job though - anyone can hate anything they do.... I heard rumors many times about USPS becoming privatized but nothing solid. Anyway, good luck getting on - sometimes there are waiting lists for years!
