Do you need a degree in order to work for the post office?

To initially get in as a craft employee, this means as a carrier, clerk or mail handler you just need to take and score well on the postal examinations they give every so often... you can find out if one is going to be happening near you by going to the jobs link@ USPS.com
If your desire is to work in some capacities such as a postal inspector or other higher offices a degree is required but to get on initially you need just past the test, a drug test, and a physical exam. Source(s): www.usps.com
no you just need to pass the test that they give you
I don't think so but you do need to take a civil service test.
No. It's a federal job and that means H.S. Diploma. Now you see why we have problems....
They prefer high school diploma or some college and you have to pass the test they give. Other than that they are not that choosey. Hence the term "going postal". They can get some real crazies that work there.
You must have a high school diploma, be able to pass a drug screen, and pass an 85 question test that you get 15 minutes to take. The test is designed to score your ability to read and comprehend quickly.

SNAP! :)
