What does a white male do about subtle discrimination at work?

nothing really overt, but "benign neglect" (no increased responsibilities; not getting things others get, etc) not being heard; being treated as a second classworker; not getting respect; being made subservient to underlings; being "wrong" in EVERY conflict; having ideas stolen; being micro managed; etc. etc.

Document, document, document. Get your ideas down on paper before you share them, cc all relevant e-mails, make sure that someone in meetings will be willing to back up your version of events, have a copy of your job description ready for when someone tries to make you do something below your level of responsibility. When you have enough concrete evidence, you can consider going to HR or filing an EEOC complaint. If you have trouble doing this, you may just need to accept that this is not a good environment for you and contact references from previous jobs so you can start preparing your resume.
you can file with http://eeoc.gov
you don't have a chance in hell unless you're a "minority" or gay. good luck...i am white and filed with them over REAL discrimination....but of course nothing. good luck.
It sounds like they are treating you like that because you don't do your job well. I don't know you but its sounds like a job performance problem.
Your question should be "how does a man become more assertive at work?" The things you are describing aren't about race, they are about doormats. Try not to be one. Speak up when you think you are being treated unfairly.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Just try to be professional and keep doing your job. Please look for other jobs in government and go to the interviews. Hopefully, you'll find a different, more fair-minded group of employees.
You do what white men have always done. You don't need to whine or bring law suits. You have an obligation to rule the world and sometimes, like now, it's tough. You can handle it.
