What other jobs can I do? |
I have a total of 3 years of Hotel (Front Office Manager) Experience. To be quite frank I am over it. The industry has changed alot people have become more demanding and quite frankly forgot how to be civil. Many people lie and cheat to get what they like. The money is okay but just seeing how evil and stupid people can be get me frustrated. I want a job where the work I do is rewarding and not just spinning my wheels dealing with oversells just to make investors pockets deeper. Oh and by the way yes getting paid well is a PLUS Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't know if this question is listed in the "Government & Non-Profit" section by accident, or because you are looking for a job in these industries. Assuming the latter, someone with good people skills (like a hotel manager) would do well as a Program Associate at a non-profit organization. This is someone who coordinates all the services a non-profit provides to its clientele. If you have good people and organization skills, you will do very well in this type of position. First of all, what do you mean by 'over it'? I mean refering to your years of service or just status? Anyhow, I work from Graphic Designing to Web designs, Marketing and Sales to Building Steel Trusses... and the answer to your question is, you can do whatever you like but you'll never escape the fact that you're still working for people, and it is people that you're dealing with... and sadly to say, most people are hard to deal with and some you just feel like choking them then cut their flesh to feed the dogs. Unfortunately in this 'civil' world, customers are always right and they pay their money to get what they deserve, including pissing off the employees. So just learn to be humble and when you've learnt that everyone is just the same, ignore their negative values and u'll find them loving you. Cheers Ps: about the money, just be contented. |
