How difficult is it to get a job at the post office? |
I am studying for the civil service exam and understand that my performance will affect the order at which I am interviewed. Is there anything else I need to prepare for? I have a clean record and I am a 24 year old college student graduating this spring. As long as you score high u will be alright my brother works at the post office he scored an 86 but they still did not call hime what he did was call all the post offices especially around the holidays and they hired him he was good and they kept him one thing though if you want to be a mail carrier you will not be fulltime right away thier is a list it may take a couple of months to 3 years to become fulltime depending on where you live but good luck the starting pay is real good. i have tried twice and they dont call at all especially if u have a degree your to over experienced. yup i've tried it twice as well and no calls at all :( The trick is scoring as high as you can on the exam. If you get 90% or higher, they will ask you back immediately. The interview is important, but not anywhere near the test. You can have a great personality, but if you can't sort that mail quickly and accurately, who cares? It is not quite as hard as winning the lottery...but close. You need to score very high or forget it. Take the practice tests and good luck. |
