Does anyone know about jobs around chicago for 16 year olds? |
I have been seeking a job since two days after my 16 birthday which was 1/26 and so far nothing has gotten me any where i have filled applications at almost everywhere around where i live can anyone give me any ideas I dont know what else to do but i really need the extra money Mayor Daley has a Summer Program I don't know if you can still apply but check it out and perhaps you can apply for it next year. http://www.uic.edu/educ/outreach/program... Have you tried fast food? They often hire teens. If you are filling out a lot of applications, perhaps you are misspelling something or not filling it out correctly if you are not getting a call back. Are you applying for jobs that you are qualified for? Well I'll tell you what I would do if I was you.....I would find out where the older ladies in your area are and offer your handyman services to them. You might want to print up an easy to read, simple flyer on your computer. Tell them you'll do things like general cleaning, removing trash and refuse, mowing, painting and the like. There are many, many older widowed women who would love to have a reliable, affordable, trustworthy person they could call to help them out. Don't overcharge but don't give your services away. They probably will not be able to relate well to todays cost of labor. Some will be very sharp and you'll like these too. Your whole business is based on trust so don't blow it. Good luck, you'll make lots of money..... Use to have a long list of nice older ladies I helped as a young kid..... |
