I was hired as a Casual Clerk at the USPS, what can I expect on the job?? |
The postmaster wanted me to work inside and with customers. I did not want to ask him too many questions. I won't be starting for a few weeks. Thanks. I was a casual with our Post office here. To be honest? You will be working harder than the full time employees. Why? Because generally they dont want full time people to work more than 8 hours a day while casuals can work up to 12 hours a day. I dont know how big your PO is or what they expect of you at yours. But for me? We did all the grunt work. Hand sorting mail, etc. You wont be working the window or anything though as you have to have the training for that. It is a great job though. I took my 473 test to get hired back as full time but hoping to get back as a casual if they can first. Plus if they work you over 40 hours a week you get overtime pay of time and a half.. Very good money!! Good luck and enjoy the job.. its worth it! wild sex you will be working as hard as all the other employees, and your term you will expire when ever your contract says. Good luck |
