I have a criminal background and I'm still having trouble finding a job,any suggestions? |
I really would like to do outreach work and help other people improve their lives and overcome addiction like I did. 1. Get a copy of "what color is your parachute", read it twice, and make notes. 2. Go to the local clinic (substance abuse clinic) and request local resources for the field of your interest. 3. Do not apply for work in larger companies or corporations. 4. Do not reveal on any application if you have convictions. If they do a background check, their loss. 5. Try Construction/ highway flagger/ or real estate related fields. You need to support your self and children first before you can help others, in this society. You might consider finding work in that area with a church, if you're willing to be a part of that. Have you considered contacting social services in your county office? They might give some help. Good Luck! that will definitely be hard. i'd do some community service to show future employers that you truly have changed. that's one of the reasons it's so bad to break the law... you can't really erase your past. You can go to school with government funds and work for the DHS office. Try some volunteer work to get some outreach experience. Be up front with them about your history, but if you have been clean for awhile they will probably give you a shot. Good Luck!! And congratulations on straighting out your life. try fastfreecash.blogspot.com you can find many great ways to earn cash online fast free so easy!!!!! |
