Need help writing a proposal to big coorporate office for a vehicle donation for non-profit organization, help |
I need to ask a big coorporate office to donate a vehicle for the use of a non-profit organization. The company requested a proposal, I've never written one myself, help. The vehicle is necessary to conduct communtiy education programs due to the large amount of material and sometimes equipment. School Grants http://www.k12grants.org/samples... offers a number of education-focused, successful, sample proposals. Most are directed to corporate or government funding sources and are downloadable in PDF format. SERA http://www.sera.com/index.php includes brief instructions and templates for a proposal, letter of inquiry, proposal cover letter, and budget. These templates are available in HTML or MS Word. Georgia Perimeter College (http://www.gpc.edu/~ebrown/sampro.htm)... has a sample grant proposal template submitted to the Strategic Directions Initiative by the Research Administration Office. Source(s): From The Foundation Center FAQ's Where can I find examples of grant proposals? http://foundationcenter.org/getstarted/f... Start out with a rough draft - literally write down all the reasons why you need the vehicle and all the good reasons a company should donate one for this purpose (tax write off, positive community image, helping the group of people who are receiving the education and how it changes their lives, helping the worker/volunteer to be more efficient and affective in their work, etc). Then go over it with a fine tooth comb and polish it up. It doesn't sound like they are expecting a high-level executive summary...they just want the details of "what, where, when, how and why". If you go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templa... you can download various templates to help get you started. Good luck! Companies get a lot of proposals from charities and it's an extremely competitive business. If you're not a writer I would strongly suggest hiring and experienced proposal writer to do it freelance rather than do it yourself. There's some great resources on the internet. Here's a wonderful 'Guide for Writing a Funding Proposal' at: http://www.learnerassociates.net/proposa... Another one through the Foundation Center: http://foundationcenter.org/getstarted/t... Charity Village has some wonderful resources, including a course on how to write a proposal at: http://www.charityvillage.ca/cv/learn/cv... All the best in this worthwhile project! |
