I really want to work at a community center or with a non profit group. Does anyone know of any good? |
websites. I am in Atlanta. I have graduated from college and I am having a hard time breaking in to that area. I dont know how to do it United Way has lots of programs that they do. You should check them out. Just look around town. There are many non profit groups that need help. I suggest you help animal welfare groups. Animals are really in need of help, from cruel owners to sick hunters and poachers. work for the poor community will auto matically starts If you are looking to be paid, I seriously doubt if you will find anything quick. Come non profit groups do pay, but most of those people worked their way up by volunteering. If you are just looking to volunteer, I know very few organizations that would not take you, as volunteers are precious and hard to come by. I am an officer in a all volunteer Search and Rescue team in St. Louis area, and we never turn down volunteers unless they have a felony. Since I don't live in Atlanta I can't be specific. Check out the yellow pages for organizations (foundations, museums, United Way agencies, and other charities in your area and apply, apply, apply. Often these organizations know about openings in other places and can make a referral. Everyone is looking for good help but seldom do non-profits pay all that much. Try to find an area that truly interests you and you may find that the pay is not the real reward for doing the job at hand. |
