How long is a security clearance good for? |
I had a TS/SCI security clearance at a job two years ago. I left it to raise my son (I left in good standing). Do I still have a security clearance? How long after you leave the job does the clearance expire? chances are you will have to have another clearance package done. If you stayed on the job, the clearance could be good for as long as 10 years. It is as good as the company says it is good for. You probably would have to ask the company since you left the company you will need to be cleared again since who knows what has happened since you left. know what I mean? That is their thinking. When you left the job, your clearance ended. They'll have to re-examine you and your lifestyle all over again. Just don't talk or meet with any spies until then. |
