Nonprofit/ social service programs in harrisburg? |
I was wondering if anyone could tell me some programs that would have job possibilities in Harrisburg, pa for a college graduate with a bachelors in clinical psychology. I am very interested in working with youth. Programs like kids peace and big brothers big sisters interest me the most and something similar to those would be excellent. You can search for particular types of nonprofit organizations in Harrisburg with Guidestar ( http://www.guidestar.org ). You have to register but its free. Then you can Google their names, find their web sites, and take it from there. Good luck! I'm not really sure about paid positions but for volunteer opportunities: www.volunteermatch.org and one can just type into search their zip code and click which kind of program that they would like to help with. It may give you some ideas as to which non-profits are out there. You may also be able to find such organizations listed in the yellow pages of your county phone book under 'social service' (organizations). You sound like an awesome person to want to mentor our youth :) |
