I'm working on a project that helps the mentally ill, ex offenders, low wage workers, single-mums etc enhance their job prospects, earning potential and increase employability. How should the phone pitch sound like in order for me to get an appointment? Being a service oriented project where public interaction is needed, I suggest the following method. Sir/Madam, Please spare a few minutes of your valuable time. I beseech your valuable partnership in the form of donation for a noble cause which is going to benefit mentally ill, ex offenders, low wage workers, single-mums . My project in which your valuable contribution is made will enhance their job prospects, earning potential and increase employ ability. Please donate liberally for this noble cause. Thank u very much for the patient hearing !! Going into businesses and talking to people is a way to get larger checks, but if you have to do it by phone.... "Hi my name is 'x' and I work for 'x'. We are a nonprofit that does 'x'. Did you know that by sending us just $100 (you should know the amount you want to ask or exactly how much a particular program costs per person) you can help single moms learn the basic skills they need to get a job and stay off of welfare." You need to pull on the heart strings of the person on the other line and ask for a certain amount and if they can't do that ask if they can do a lower amount. Just know that you are going to get a lot of no's over the phone if you are cold calling and the person knows nothing about your organization. Don't give up. |
