I am a ARMY vet I have a hon discharge(I did my required time and didn't want to reenlist.I rember before I went into the Army people telling me if you are a vet you will beable to get all kinds of jobs.Also when I was out processing from the ARMY I had to go to these ACAP calsses they said the same thing.I also have a high school diploma.In the past two months I have had two interviews where I did'nt get the job but two diffrent guys I know got jobs there and they did'nt even have high school diplomas but they are married and have kids.Do you think that was why they were hired.I still think I should have got the jobs over them.I have recently went to school and got my Class A CDL license I still cant find a local job I live in a small town in central Pa.And I cant find a job anyware around here.I know I can get a job driving truck over the road.I want somthing local.Please dont send me links for trucking companies.Where I live its not what you know its who you know.What can I do. I think you have an attitude problem and your communication skills are poor. I can tell by how you wrote the question and the picture you posted entitled, "armed and dangerous." How did you come across during the interviews? Nobody wants a wacko on their team. You have to be positive and indicate that you will be a team player and that you will be there to help the company. The company needs employees to make money. That should be your mindset: that you have the skills, the desire, and motivation to help the company make money. Now polish up and try again. Keep trying until you get a job. Learn from each setback. Stay positive and be persistent. Sign up for jobs that give veterans preference points.. i am applying for the California DEPT of corrections and they prefer veterans and give them the best chance to get the job. Provided that you have a clean law abiding back ground and accceptable credit history. |
