Where is the best place for a non-profit organization to purchase or obtain dance flooring? |
Where is the best place for a non-profit organization to purchase or obtain dance flooring? Try Habitat for Humanity resale shops. They offer a variety of building materials. Call all the building supply stores explain you are a non-profit org and they will usually offer you materials at little to no cost! You can check online at the "major' home improvement sites, like Home Depot, and see if they have any online information on their 'corporate social responsibility" policy, and if they fund any organizations with your mission. You can also go directly to the local retailers. Your chances for success will be improved if you decide first if you are asking for a donation, or a discount. If you ask for "a donation or a discount" you will most likely be offered the discount, when you might have gotten the whole thing donated. Before approaching anyone, put together your 'attack' plan first. Prepare an engaging apppeal, including information about your organization, an illustration of the need for dance flooring, and show the benefits to the community if the donation is received. Offer to 'thank' the benefactor by placing signage in your center or publications/website stating "flooring donated by ..." so that they get public recognition of their charity. |
