How do I land this job?



Sent a resume to a nation-wide non profit. Received an email request for a phone interview about two days later. Spoke with the head of HR who ended the interview by saying she was going to contact the hiring manager THAT DAY to schedule an in person interview. Meanwhile, I sent a thank you letter to the head of HR.

The hiring manager emails me that same day to ask for an in person interview. Two days later I went to the interview and was told I'd hear whether or not I got the job this week. I then went home and sent the hiring manager a thank you letter.

What can I do to land this job? Should I send a follow up/"remember me" letter? If so what should I say in it?
Should I reiterate my skills and interest in the job YET AGAIN like I did in both thank you letters? Most places don't like it when you call.

Any and all advice but especially from those in hiring positions would be appreciated.

If they told you that you would hear within a week, then it is courtesy to wait out that period of time before you contact them again. If you wait, and you have not yet heard, you can send an email to the HR manager, and the person with whom you interveiwed, and let them know that you are still interested in the positon.
I have been involved with hiring for years. You have done all the right things so far. I don't think sending a "remember me" letter will help. If you feel you need to contact them again I think it should be to let them know how excited you would be to come work for them. Keep it short and sweet.
Yes, why not? your so lucky. Have the same courage you had when you've sent your resume, confronting the interviews and sending letters of thanks. If you have a doubt to yourself because you dont have enough experience, onhand job teach you more. Like me, I start working in a job that I dont have any experience, I dont even know how to start but the oppurtunity that was came and gave me a job gave me the courage that I can work with their and my expectations. I agree with Willie J. You must have done something right for the head of HR to refer you to the hiring manager. I think you will get the job. Good luck. God bless.
I hire a lot of people and thank you letters get noticed. However, phone calls are annoying, and my advice is to do nothing more at this point. More letters/calls will just create more work and waste time for the manager. You've made your case in the interview and getting in their face too much while they figure out who to hire could be a turn-off.
Wait until u get a call back I know it will seem to long but if you bug them they may not hire you or call you back.
