When interviewing, employers say I have too many temp jobs. I have been out for two years just before 9/11?

because of a job injury, not my fault, and no one thought I would be able to go back, but I did. I started out temping to see if I could do it, just as I was about to get started 9/11 happend. No one could get even one part-time job, I got three part-time jobs overlapping each other and landed a emergency hire job every 89-days and lasted two years. I also have managed 6-mos. job and a 11-month job that was only to last 3 months. I holding out for a permanent job but I feel I will end up getting another temp job to keep going. HELP

Most employers want to know how hard you will work for them. That information will not look bad. You had three part time jobs at one time! wow May be the cause is telling them about your injury and they are using the temp jobs as an excuse.
why don't you tell them that! as long as your being honest.
Here is how you fix it.

How many different temp agencies did you work for? If you only worked for one or two, just list the agency and the entire time period on your resume. Something like this:

Jan, 2001 to present Kelly Services

Then list one or two of your long term assignments under the name, don't list the names of the companies you were at or the exact time frame, just your title and a few of your accomplishments.

Did you make sure to get letters of recommendation and permission from your bosses to use to look for work? If not, call them up and ask if they would be so kind.

Good luck

It's true, employers are anxious about job-related injuries that may reoccur. This suggests workers comp and will make most back away from a candidate.

You don't need to bring up the 2 year gap. In your resume and interviews, emphasize your skills and what you've accomplished on the jobs. There are a lot of reasons a person may be out of the workforce, taking care of an ill relative, caring for kids etc.

You have a track record of 2 years regardless of whether the job status was temporary. You worked longer than some people in "permanent" jobs who leave after a year.

Many employers are more interested in what you can do than whether you worked temp or perm. Emphasize the positive, you worked almost a year in a job that was only supposed to last for 3 months!!

A local one-stop career center can also help. Services are nationwide and they're free. The centers have computers for jobsearch, counselors to help with job leads. They also have workshops on interviewing, resume, networking etc.
