Finding a job?!? |
does anyone know how to go about getting a job for the military? of course one that is open to civilians. my husband is active duty and i see a lot of civilians working in some offices on base and i was wondering who they went about that? for his next deployment i'm thinking about daycare and a job with regular hours and working for the military just seems like the easiest thing since he's stationed at that base. just curious..thanks :) Sounds like a great idea to me. I would start by contacting the personnel office of the branch of the military your husband is in. Do a little internet research first. here's a site to start with http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/weekl... Once you know application procedures you can apply. It may not hurt to talk to the civilian personnel office where your husband is stationed now. Good luck! Every post has an office that handles contract workers and job openings, go and ask. There are also websites advertising contract jobs for the military. Good Luck. Try going to the family support center (or service equivalent) and see if they might be able to steer you in the right direction. Also try the BX-PX-MCX-NEX, the commissary, dry-cleaners or if you have a professional degree maybe the education center, library, exc............just some ideas........also many people start a small daycare from their home on base |
