Are the minutes to Board meetings in a nonprofit organization public? Meetings for board meetings are not public information for any company by law. Many things are discussed at the board level which are very confidential to even a nonprofit organization and as such they are rarely revealed in their entirety. If you get anything it is usually an excerpt of a specific discussion. Source(s): Senior financial controller No. The only thing that nonprofit organizations are required by law to make public are their annual returns to the IRS (Form 990). Among other things, 990s disclose their financial position, the people on their board of directors, the number of employees they have, the salaries of their officers and key staff, and amount spent on fundraising and administrative expenses. To view a nonprofit organization's 990, go to http://www.guidestar.org (free, but you have to register). it's my job (5 yrs) |
