I want to develop a non profit organization to help people in Africa? |
Okay, I am 18, but my life ambition is to help others. Right now I am enrolled in UCLA as a Junior and I am trying to become a pharmacist. I am by nature a philanthropist and I want to devote my life to altruistic causes. Although being a pharmacist follows that path, I also express indignation that people neglect poor conditions in Africa, and all over the world. I want to develop a non profit organization, or start to work for one (and go up the ranking ladder). I don't know how to go about doing either one. Help? Good Luck !!. You have rightly chosen a backward country for your service. Please float a company as per the law of the country which you intend to serve. you have to mingle with people and they should feel that you are one among them . I would probably start with google. a good search of "volunteer africa" points out many orgs out there. Although there are many scams in that part of the world so you would have to be cautious. I have known many people who worked for http://www.peacecorps.gov/ and considered it one of the most satisfyingly experiences of their lives. and why not go to http://www2.oprah.com/uyl/makedif/uyl_ma... for advice. But really running a non-profit I would suspect to be very paper intensive. You need business plans and the ability to motivate and inspire people. I wish you all the luck in making the world better. Never forget that while people are ... prone to be human ... they are not inherently evil. get back to me in 10 years. If you still want to help Africa, perhaps you'll realize what actually can be done. Throwing money at it won't help. Good luck with pharmacy school my wife is married to a pharmacist |
