What are ur thoughts about big companies having charity institutions?

is this plainly because they care or anything else? do they get taxrebates when they do have one?

most countries has set guidelines to encourage big time moguls to donate to charity. it ranges 30% tax rebate per annum for every 1000 decriments donated. not bad eh??

if there are no rebates will still there be institutions founded by this companies? lets see.
some companies donate to charitable institutions as part of their promotion. they want to be known to the public as helpful organizations and in turn be able to build a very good reputation. on the other hand some are really sincere in doing it because they do believe that if one does something good to others, this will come back a hundredfold.
its a great way to declare smaller net profits (vs. actual). small profit, less tax. and its great PR. notice how companies donate to or put up foundations that can be their potential market or can be used as a channel for their ad campaigns? contrary to popular belief, charitable institutions are actually income-generating or expense-minimizing entities.
