Can non profit employees normally paid on the 1st ea month be paid legally on Sep 4th? |
In other words, can the school get away with doing this legally? Also, aren't they supposed to pay employees at least 2x a month? If you have direct deposit, they have to deposit the payment in your account by the 1st. If you are to receive a check, you get it on the next business day, if the office is closed on payday. Good reason to have direct deposit. There is no law stating how many times a month a company is required to pay you. Most companies pay 2x a month or every two weeks, and some pay once a month. yep, they can. complaine to the bbb giovernment they'll get your your right and affirmactivea actiomn. Depends on what state you work in. Nearly every state requires employers to pay at least twice a month (semi-monthly). Some states require employees to be paid at least every other week (biweekly). You didn't mention which state you work in, so I can't look up yours. If I were you, I would call my state's Department of Labor. They are the best for inquiring what your state's rules are and, if your employer is breaking the law, you can file a complaint with them. Good luck! it's my job |
