How many jobs did you have in the past 2 years? four, mostly lower paying jobs.very demanding.one was a very high paying job but my health is not good enough anymore to handle such a demanding stressful pace now.thanks to the heartbreak of losing a job i loved for no good reason and then being the full time care giver for my terminally ill and disabled brother,my own health has suffered.and of course it has not helped my depression at all. none, i am self employed I have had same job for past 8 years. One paying job. A few volunteer positions and of course, being a mom. That last one doesn't pay much in cash, but the fringe benefits are great. Just started a new job 2 weeks ago as a public purchasing officer... the job before that I had for only a year (State budget analyst, HATED IT!). And the job before that was as a public housing director. So that's three jobs in 2 years. But I just finished grad school in 2003, so there's some expectation of job-hopping during the early part of your career, as you jockey for a position in the world. Since government is not known for offering internal promotion opportunities within any reasonable period of time, you have to switch organizations to move up most of the time. If I stayed with my first job, I'd still be making $13/hr doing the same damn thing! |
