Ok.. if u want to be Registered Nurse(RN)??

-would u go to 2-yr community college first
OR
-go straight to 4yrs private college..

Please Answer..

I would go the associate route because at least you have an LPN and can start working as a nurse. Some jobs will pay for you to go and get your RN. Plus there are programs that move you from LPN to RN with specific focus on that part of the program.

I think LPN then RN/BSN then MSN.
4 year college, doesn't have to be private. a state school with a good nursing program is fine.
You should go to a four year college. It doesn't have to be a private college, it can be just a state college. Most have a nursing program.
Overall, I would recommend going the 4-year route and getting your BSN.

However, it really depends on what your goals and needs are. Community and tech colleges are a lot less expensive per credit hour, and you'd be there for half the time, so if you want or need to start working and making money right away, getting the 2 year ADN/ASN might be a better option. A lot of people think that you cannot get an RN at a two year school, only an LVN/LPN, but that's not true, as you appear to already know. In the town I live in you can get an ADN(RN) at the community college and an LPN at the technical college.

With the four year degree you will almost definitely get paid more, will get more respect from other nurses and health care professionals (not always fair, but it's the way of the world), and you will have TONS of opportunities within nursing. Jobs in administration and sales are not generally available to RNs who do not hold a bachelor's degree.

There are a lot of RN-BSN programs out there, and they are great. However, if you are already working as a nurse with no BA/BS and are in older, will you really want to be taking all of the communication and humanities classes that you'll need for the bachelor's? If you have the time and resources for it, I say go for the 4 year program!
