One of my best girlfriends is scared to death of having children... she is 30 years old and has been married? |
four years to her husband. They are the best couple in the world..It has nothing to do with their marriage or financial ability.. Whats something fun and meaningful I can tell her about pregancy? No one was more terrified than I was to have a baby. I seemed to be surrounded by women with one horror story after another. When I found out I was expecting my first child, I sat and cried because I really wanted a baby but I was so scared to go thorugh the childbirth process...even worse, what if I had to have a c-section? Surgery? While awake? With a shot? In your spine? It would make me nauseated to the point of vomiting just thinking about it. The C-section..no big deal..at no point was the pain more than I could bare...I have had migraines that were worse. The dreaded epidural? Didn't hurt worse than any other shot I had...I kept expecting extreme pain, and then the anesthesiologist said, "Got it!" I said, "That's it?" He said, "That's it!" Two minutes later...I was numb...the procedure was uncomfortable, but not painful...lasted only 20 minutes and then I got some really nice drugs to help me sleep. I could do it again....20 times over. No big deal. ...and I NEVER thought I would be able to say that. i'm scared of having kids too! seems like a total loss of freedom. don't feed your friend propoganda. Think about how fun it is to hold a little baby in your arms and realize that you brought such a beautiful child into the world. Just be Positive 100% at all times. have fun being pregnant, being pregnant is the best gift ever for your friends and her husband. Why are you pushing her to have children? There isn't anything wrong with not having children. Either way, is it that she is afraid of labor/pregnancy? She could always adopt, there are more than enough little babies in this world that need a loving family. |
