Hi, what are the order of nurses--from least credentials to highest credentials--in order, and a brief explana

planation.

For example, I know it goes something like

cna
lpn
rn

but i have no clue really.

Please, because i'm considering one of the top 3 tiers of professional nursing, in case I dont get into medschool.

cna
lpn
rn
np
doctorate of nursing

PS: An RN is not a nurse practitioner.
So far you have it in order after RN is Nurse Practitioner which is someone who is also qualified to assume some of the duties formerly assumed only by a physician. After that I think it is management which takes you away from the patients. Don't rule out careers in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical Industries. Examples: Bioinformatics, Regulatory Affairs, Research, Marketing, Business Development, Culinary Science, Nutritional Science, Animation, etc......... Good Luck
