Can you become an LPN and then continue on to become an RN? |
What type of degree is an LPN? AS? AA? AAS? WIll the degree transfer over towards a BA for RN? LPN's do not have degrees, they have a certificate and are then able to sit for the LPN licensure...Licensed Practical Nurse. Once an LPN, you may then progress to the status of RN, by either getting an Associates Degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. If you are determined to grow and get the biggest bang for your buck..get into a four year program. It will offer you more opportunties for growth once you get some clinical skills and experience. Source(s): An old CNA,then ADN, then BSN and now going for Masters, RN yes, you can continue. Most RN's that I know started as LPN's and worked while getting their RN. Your classes and job experience will transfer over (although maybe not class for class, but you'll get credit for them). ummm my moms a lpn and a lpn is a lincens personal nurce Yes yes you can transfer the LPN degree over to an RN. im actually in school now for that. the school im using to transfer will be a community college. LPN is a certifcate. You are licensed. I have one year to complete my LPN courses. RN can be many different things. You can go on thats what I am planning on doing.. I am being a LPN first so I can work and get a better pay check than a CNA (which is what i am now.)And yes they all transfer. |
