What can an Ex-Navy Corpsman do in the civilian medical field?

Worked in a blood bank for a year and a half, work in the hospital working the pediatric clinic, went Iraq, trauma care, went through Operational Emergency Medical Skill, OEMS. Was in military for 5 years.

Have you thought of PA school? Check out the University of Washington. They accept corpsmen on a regular basis and PA's are needed everywhere. If you already have a good grasp on common medications and can start an IV you should be able to get into an undergrad PA or nursing program without difficulty.

If you enjoyed working in blood bank (and God bless you if you did) you should consider applying to an MT or MLT program. Med Tech is the hot commodity for traveling health care temp agencies at the moment.
i was an army medic and was able to challenge the state nursing exam in california..i worked 24 years in the mental health field..very rewarding
You'd make a hell of a First Responder.
Paramedic?
