Help, feeling a lack of self confidence. im starting an LVN program although studying is not a problem.?

Help, feeling a lack of self confidence. im starting an expensive LVN program although studying is not a problem with me and ive always wanted to become a nurse so bad, for some reason i feel scared that i will mess up when im actually in the work field. Is this a normal feeling because as of now i dont have the training yet or is this my gut feeling telling me that i shouldn't be one. Anybody else felt this way before they became nurse??

Hey, now -- at many points in many people's lives they question themselves and feel less than confident. Even these so called celebrities have "their days". The butterflies, the "can/should I really do this" is normal part of each new journey/endeavor. If this is what you really want, if you are pretty good at math, can stomach packing some seeping wounds and giving injections. Can read and retain info, you will be fine. Stay motivated, look internally to ensure you can master such skills; some people may be better at reading, writing, pushing paper, which would not make them "as" qualified as a person comfortable with math calculations and who isn't too squeemish. Fake it till you make it; that is in regard to confidence. Some things can't be faked; reality checks are important. All the best. Education is necessary.
Totally normal!!! I have been a LPN for 5yrs now and I am going back for my RN starting Aug 23 - and I am freaking out, LOL!!!!
Yes totally normal! I just graduated with my LVN, and it SUCKED!! But was TOTALLY worth it! And don't stop there! Get your RN!

I am in the same boat with you. I will be starting college this month for my CNA certification and am scared of what to expect. I'm constantly wondering if I am going to mess up and not pass and if I do pass...like you...would I be a good nurse. It scares me! But...it is something I want to do so I am going for it. Good luck to me and good luck to you!!! : )
