Write a health-related book - what topic? |
I've been invited to write a short book on a health related subject for use by the general public. I have extensive experience of working with the medical profession but I am not a member of the medical profe Household dangers that kids and teens can get into such as inhalants (huffing/inhaling fumes from household or industrial products), 'the choking game' also called 'space monkey' or 'the pass out game' where the kids take turns strangling each other for a quick, cheap high like with huffing or if alone, may put something around their necks and get a stroke ('brain attack') or even die, and drinking Robutussin cough medicine by the bottle for a high and hallucinations. A friend has a traumatic brain injury (tbi) and other permanent damage including bone marrow (fatty inner lining of the bones where blood cells are made) damage from huffing when she was just age 12, now in her 30's. Those kinds of topics would be invaluable for parents, teachers and teens alike. Good luck writing your book! Source(s): National Inhalant Prevention Coalition: www.inhalants.org For more info on the dangers of 'the choking game': www.deadlygameschildrenplay.co... (G.A.S.P. -- games adolescents shouldn't play) And Dr. Phil featured a couple families severely affected by that 'game' namely a mother who lost one of her twin sons: www.drphil.com/shows/show/585 Impotence and premature ejaculation is a sure-fire winner. obsiety is a hot topic as is smoking but if you want to be different you could write about the health risk behind over dosing of vitamin pills and self mdeicating ect. hope this helps and good luck with the writing.
