How much does a hospital pay food service workers?

I'm thinking of applying for a job at my local hosptal doing food service work. Does anyone know how much hospitals pay people for this kind of work? is is above the min wage? or higher since it's a hospital?

It might depend on the health care facility. And there seems to be a lot of jobs for food service workers especially in a hospital or nursing home/long-term care setting. Just a word to the wise, there is probably a lot of standing and bending in that type of job. Just fyi :) Good luck in your endeavors.

For more info on average salary and such: US Occupational Outlook Handbook www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'food service worker' or such.
The US Department of Labor provides hourly mean wages for food preparation workers, which you can view by clicking on this link, http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes352021...

Nursing care facility and outpatient care center data are given.

Hope this helps.
