Medical administrative assistant?

I just started school as a medical admin asst. i was wondering if this is a good career to get into does it pay off?
I am going to a 18 month school and i already started paying so I hope it will pay off.
Does anyone know of a school called boheckers business college? is it any good?

I have been an Administrative Medical Assistant for 5 years now and I enjoy it. I went to a vo-tech school for 9 months but have realized that it was not needed. A lot of Doctors want to train you themselves. You do not make a ton of money unless you make it into management. It is a good job if you enjoy working with many different people and can handle upset patients, you will learn quickly that it is your fault when the Doctor is running late. Anyways good luck and I hope that you enjoy it.
IMO your schooling could have been done in high school. You really don't need any specialty training to be a med. admin. assistant, just have to know some medical terminology and know how to type/use a computer. It can propel you toward a future as a nurse, however, if you choose to do that...but that's a lot more school (and a lot more pay). Good luck to you!
I don't know of that school, but please be wary of those real expensive schools that promise a job after training is completed. They virtually all pretty much guarantee a job but may not live up to it. I would instead look into a much less expensive school such as one offered thru the local community college (perhaps even a non-credit course) or county vo-tech school. I also have heard that jobs for medical office assistant which I believe is very similar to what you are studying for unfortunately does Not have a very good job market. That includes medical billing and coding.

And just a word to the wise, not to enroll in any of those 'online schools' such as penn foster, stratford career institute, university of phoenix as employers don't really view those programs as reputable.
