What do you think about nurses who make to much money? |
I'm a certified nurse assistant and I don't get paid enough for what I do. Do u think this fair. I believe we the certified nurse assistants should at least get paid better for the crap we put up with. While the LVN or RN just sit behind the nurse's station. All I'm saying is that we should get better pay. At least starting pay at 12.00 hr or more. I only got paid 8.25 hr and wasn't enough for what I was doing. So tell me what is fair. I worked in a nursing home. So I getting patients ready, like get them bathe, get get them dressed, feed some of them that can't eat on their own. Change the ones that in bed. I mean put diapers on them. It's as though you run the whole show while the nurse doesn't do anything but sit there. She will not even tend to the patient tell we do it first.. All I'm saying is we deserve better pay. You are defenitly right. I am also a CNA and I get the same pay you do. It sucks... but thats why i'm trying to go to school to become a nurse. I learned its just the way it is. just try and go to school so you can make the big bucks. Honestly... I understand how you feel and what you are saying... however, they are getting paid the bucks because they clocked the hours at school.. Its about that piece of paper... DEGREE.. sorry.. Hi there! Am sure uno that u r pay depends on ur Xperience. the higher the XP the higher the pay. if u have XP then y dont u start jumping hospitals? u might finally end up getting higher pay...that simple! but u might end with more of work load tooooo! So think bfore u leap. My wife is finishing up her nursing degree this year, and although I can see your point of view (she worked several years as an MA) I also see what she has had to go through just to become a nurse. She will effectively complete four years of school to get a two year degree, and she will face essentially the same level of liability that a doctor does for a fraction of what a doctor makes. I'll give you the same advice I was given years ago after I had joined the Navy...."If you don't like the job you're doing, move up a rank!" If you don't enjoy being a CNA, go back to school and become an RN or LPN. I am all for that, that's why I went back to school, and yes that has to be tough. At least your in the field, it gives you some advantage, some schools give C.N.A and extra edge over students who do not have any training, but the entrance exams are tough, and the waiting periods, are long in my area for school. That's the difference between a line and staff job. They are in a leadership position because they went to school for that, and you are in a support position. It has nothing to do with what jobs you each do, it has to do with the level, education and experience. If you want that kind of money then go to school for it. While a nurse goes to school 2-4 years, a CNA goes to school for 14 weeks. You complain about $8.25 an hour well then why don't you get that $12 and live in a person's home and help them out for that much money. You'll see quickly that you have no life at all if you earn that $12 an hour but you will get maybe your own room and bath and maybe some food in exchange (with will come to a tidy sum) but you will have no life of your own because you won't have anyone to fill in for you if you want to go shopping or go on a date or something. So save your money or get a loan and get more education. You don't get paid enough for what you do because we live in a society where for the most part, education is highly correlated with income. If you want a nurses pay, then do the 2 to 3 years of coursework, plus clinicals, plus the state board, instead of a 6 week CNA course, and you'll get paid too. CNA's do work that LVN's and RN's don't have time to do...if you weren't bathing and changing diapers on patients, what would you be doing? You can't pass meds, you can't give injections, you can't give an IV, you are not legally allowed to do anything a nurse does...that is why they get paid. RN's actually start out closer to $21 an hour, depending on location. Achieving a higher income is never easy...you have to be willing to put in the time and the work to get the reward. |
