What do you do when you feel underpaid, but more qualified than your boss? |
What do you do when you feel underpaid, but more qualified than your boss? Could you start your own business? Why is he the boss? Is it because he has money or is it based on his knowledge. Running a business takes a lot of money, time and business savvy. Think of all of these and maybe you need to consider changing jobs. Move on...it is likely that your boss will never be smarter than you (at least in your eyes) and you will continue to be frustrated. I have been in a situation where I felt overworked, underpaid, and unrecognized while my boss was always away from the office, never returned phone calls, and never followed up on her word. It's really hard especially with health care. Sometimes, a person can never really know what you are doing through until THEY themselves go through one day of your workweek. What did I do to resolve my situation? I left. I had been with the company for more than 2 years and I finally gave up because I knew that nothing was going to change. So I looked for a job where I would be paid what I was worth and where the supervisory staff followed through. In that situation, nothing can change, but you can change what YOU do. find another JOB Start my own business, where I call the shots. This is actually what I'm doing! I couldn't take it anymore!!
