I want to be some kind of nurse but i dont want to have to go to school for a long time. Any suggestions? |
Any suggestion of what i could do or where i can find some information and descriptions on different jobs? LPN is not an Associate Degree program, it is a vocational degree program. About 1 1/2 years. An Associate Degree program nurse is an RN with and ADN degree. Although some RN programs will offer you the ability to obtain an LPN license after you get halfway through. Here are the nursing choices: C.N.A. = about 10 - 12 weeks. Pay isn't very good and work is pretty menial. LPN is a vocational program nurse. About 1 1/2 years, can be slightly more or less depending on where you go to school. Pay is not as high as an RN. RN is college based. You can get an associate degree or bachelors degree, so minimum time is 2 years. Pay is significantly higher than LPN, although usually no pay difference between associate and bachelor's degree. Source(s): I'm an RN in Georgia since 1994. volunteer at a hospital and see if its what you want. and if it isnt then u didnt waste ur time for school. but if it is.. go to school no matter what you want to be you need to go to school for a while. =S you can be a nurse and get a degree in two years, although most of the nurses with a four year degree tend to be able to go further in their carreers. After working in a hospital a nurse with a bachelors would be able to continue on to some kind of administration work. You can be an LPN. That doesn't take as long as the others do. About 3 years. You would have an associate's degree. An RN has a bachelor's degree. A Nurse Practioner has a Master's or sometimes a Doctrine. A Flight Nurse I think has to have a Master's. I can't remember. So LPN would be your best choice. It takes one year to get your pre-recs and then its a two year program. u cud get a 2 year diploma in nursing go get your cna, have it for 6 months, plus your ged, and then go get your CMT- certified medical technition- you can pass meds for nursing homes- and this course only takes about 88 hours to complete |
