I would advise that you do a couple of years on a general ward first to reinforce the knowledge you have, build up on your skills and gain confidence in your nursing ability. You will then have the opportunity to see which particular of nursing interests you the most. Go on as many courses arranged by the hospital as you can as this looks good on your cv, for example IV administration, emergency care etc. Ask to be put forward for your mentorship course as soon as you can so you can start getting credits toward your degree, this will also enable you to start looking after student nurses.

Jobs with more responsibility will tend to look for people who have a couple of years of experience under their belt and two years goes by very quickly and gives you the chance to build up your skills. Further down the line you could consider nurse practitioner or nurse specialist roles. Good luck.
become an ob gyn nurse practioner..usually an 18 mo course, can work days and go to school @ night.
