Hospital work expierence.? |
I plan on applying to medschool in the next 2 years (I have my BA in poli sci), I will start taking my science pre req courses in the fall at a local CC. But i am planning on getting a job at a hospital to get some real hospital expierence and something to put on my application to set me apart from others. I have been researching CNA jobs (Certified nursing assistant) as it looks like a job that will be good for 2 years and will expose me to the workings of a hospital. But i was wondering if anyone had any information on being a CNA or has any expierence themselve with this job or jobs like it. Also if anyone has any ideas as to other hospital jobs that may be better. Doesnt have to be anything great its all about expierence right now. I have been a nurse for 20+ years and my suggestion would be pharmaceutical tech or rep. Many medical schools recognize nursing experience but place a higher value on pharmaceutical experience. I would also look into a medical research assistant. Teaching programs love research and if you get an opportunity to learn research techniques, it holds a great deal of value to Academic Medical Professors.
