Hey is anyone a mother/baby RN working in couplet care?.....or a nurse like that?? |
I am thinking about being that type of nurse.....could anyone give me information about working in couplet care Do you like it? How much do you get paid? Do they train you at the hospital or does it require more schooling? What exactly do you do? Any other info? Please help!! Any answers are appreciated! Will give 10pts!!! Thanks!!! In our unit we do mother/baby care when the census is low. Not all the time, but we're moving to a new hospital and I can see it coming. There is a shortage in our area for labor and delivery nurses and because of that, we make pretty good money. Even more for PRN people. Training is provided be the hospitals, but most desire, (not always require) experience. Couplet care is basically caring for mother and her child thorough labor delivery and postpartum care. I'll be honest, I don't like it. To me, labor and delivery is time consuming and requires a lot of focus a lot of the time. I feel like I cheat the new mom and baby if my mind is elsewhere. |
