I'm interested in becoming an ob-gyn ultrasound tech. What does a typical day for an ultrasound tech consists of? What are the pros and cons of this profession? Thanks!
I am not personally sure of the employment aspects of ultrasound technicians, aka (also known as) medical sonographers, however, here is a website for general info on typical daily tasks along with average salary: US Occupational Outlook Handbook www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'ultrasound technician' or 'medical sonographer'. I believe that one would need to take technical physics as one of the prerequisites along with having a great foundation of the human body. And please do make sure that the program is accredited, and stay away from those private schools that are all too expensive but instead a community or state college. Wishing you the best!
