What career would a degree in telecommunications prepare me for?

You would work at a news station or a radio station. The problem with this major is there are a lot of people competing for a limited number of positions. My advice is to do a lot of extracurriculars at your college's TV and radio stations, take internships and career-oriented jobs whenever possible, and try to prove qualifications outside of the classroom as well as getting good grades.
